Quickcalc Quickcalc Quickcalc Quickcalc

It is a self-contained desktop application for Windows that installs in seconds, runs offline, and comes with a 30-day free trial — no account to create, no recurring fees. A one-time licence covers the Windows version.

What Quick Calc models

Quick Calc models 15 fee types across 10 built-in marketplaces: the final-value commission each marketplace takes on a sale; regulatory fees such as eBay’s compliance charge; VAT on fees, handled correctly with a simplified view for home sellers; fixed order and per-item fees — the flat charges added per order or per item; enforced ad fees, the fixed advertising percentage you cannot opt out of on platforms like Etsy; charity donations and top-rated or seller discounts; low-order threshold penalties when an order falls below a set value; category fees for higher-rate categories like electronics or watches; and foreign-sale fees for orders shipped internationally.

That is every fee most sellers know exists but cannot easily track to the penny. Quick Calc puts them all in one calculation.

Ten marketplaces, default rates you can edit

Quick Calc loads default fee values for eBay, Etsy, Shopify, Facebook Marketplace and more, so you start from a realistic baseline rather than a blank form. The defaults are a starting point — you can edit them to match your actual account, because the rates your account experiences are not always the rates quoted in the help pages.

The numbers that matter before you list

When you press Calculate, Quick Calc rolls every cost into the figures that decide whether a listing is worth making: your net sale after all fees, your total costs, your profit, your margin, and the break-even price — the exact price at which the item stops losing money. The break-even price is the single most useful number a seller can have before listing. It is the floor below which a listing loses money, and knowing it before you list is the difference between pricing with your eyes open and pricing blind.

Mini-tools for the what-if questions

Alongside the main calculator, Quick Calc includes focused mini-tools: a VAT tool to add or remove VAT on any figure for invoices and gross-price checks; a margin calculator to work from a cost and desired markup to a sale price and margin; a discount calculator to see instantly what 5%, 10% or 20% off does to a price; and a free shipping calculator to decide whether offering free postage still leaves a profit.

Why not a spreadsheet

A spreadsheet rebuilt for every listing misses fee logic that changes between marketplaces, gets VAT on fees wrong, does not compute break-even automatically, stays static when marketplaces change rates, and has no built-in tools for the what-if questions. Quick Calc keeps the logic in one place, handles VAT on fees correctly, computes break-even automatically, and notifies you of updates with live help and built-in recovery tools.

Quick Calc Marketplaces for Windows is a product of CritchCorp Computers Ltd. The free 30-day trial is fully functional — continued use after the trial requires a licence. Fee and profit figures are estimates based on the values you enter and the rates available at the time; marketplaces change their fees, and actual results vary.

Pdf Pilot Pdf Pilot Pdf Pilot Pdf Pilot Pdf Pilot

PDF Pilot is built around exactly that set of jobs. Four tools in one window — merge, split, rotate, compress — each doing one thing well, with no account to create, no data uploaded anywhere, and a one-time licence instead of a recurring fee.

The everyday PDF jobs, listed

Merge combines several PDFs into one document in the order you choose. That is the job that comes up when you have a contract in one file, an invoice in another, and you need to send them together. Split breaks a large document into single pages or extracts only the pages you specify — useful when you have a 50-page PDF and only need three of those pages. Rotate turns every page 90, 180 or 270 degrees, which is exactly what you need after a scan comes out sideways. Compress shrinks a PDF and shows you immediately how much smaller it got, so you can decide whether it will fit in an email before you try to send it.

That covers the bulk of everyday PDF work for most people. If your need is those four jobs, PDF Pilot does them in one place.

Why offline matters for small offices

A small office or home user often handles documents that are not public — contracts, quotes, customer details, financial records. An online PDF converter takes the file you upload and processes it on someone else’s server. You cannot see where it goes, and you cannot un-upload it. PDF Pilot does every job on your own machine, with no internet connection required and no third-party server involved. That is not a luxury for sensitive documents — it is a reasonable default for any document you would rather not hand to a server you do not control.

One licence, no subscription

Adobe and similar subscription services charge monthly and keep charging monthly. PDF Pilot is a one-time purchase. There is no recurring fee, no account to maintain, and no forced upgrade cycle. Updates are offered automatically — you install them or ignore them. You can purchase the Windows version or the Linux version.

The free 30-day trial is fully functional. There is no feature gating, no watermark, and no account to create before you download. Run a real PDF through the trial and see whether the four jobs it does are the ones you actually need.

What PDF Pilot is not

PDF Pilot is not a full PDF editor. It does not let you rewrite text inside a PDF, add annotations, or fill forms. It does the four jobs it does — merge, split, rotate, compress — and does them well, offline, in one window. If your need is those four jobs, that is the tool. If you need to edit the contents of a PDF, that is a different tool for a different job.
