Hi Raj, An excellent question. Did you know that only 39% of all websites don't use a CMS to maintain their site. Of the rest that do use one WordPress is about 68%. The good things about WordPress, and many other content management systems are the fact that each and every site can look very very different, unique in fact. Many times you don't even know that they are runing WordPress unless you know what to look for. Of course we use WordPress.Org and not WordPress.Com. The Former is somehting that runs on your own server rather than the latter whcih runs on WordPress' own servers. The .Org version has many more addons and themese available for you directly download an install and can be done with little to no knowledge of HTML but also allows anyone with technical knowledge to be able to get their hands in on it too. Many companies use WordPress that you wouldn't even know such as the BBC who have several WP sites. All WordPRess, or any other CMS, does, is it allows you or anyone in your company to be abel to easily update your site. WordPress is the largest and best maintained as they have a really good team looking after the security of WP as well as devlopers making it better all the time. If you are techinical and have lots of time then you may want to write your own site from scratch, we did many many years ago and we also wrote sites for customers. A site in those days could cost over £5000 but these days they have come down so much in price becuase of the use of CMS' whcih make it quick and easy to make a site. We still like to get in and play with the code, but that's just us. If you have yor own site that you want to host, you could do it for FREE, or if you prefer an easy to use easy to update site then you could try a WordPress site.
